1994

Founded in the UK in 1994, "Deepend Design LLC" was set up to service the growing computer visualisation and multi-media industry. Helping product designers, architects and brands realise their dreams through the magic of design computing.

1995

In 1995 we created one of the first brand focused websites on the internet for "Hula Hoops", a popular snack brand in the UK at the time. The site used a little known computer language called Hyper Text Mark-Up Language (HTML) which is now ubiquitous underpins the entire World Wide Web as we know it.

1999

By 1999 and with the help of the Dot.Com boom, Deepend Design had expanded beyond recognition. During this time, Deepgroup LLC was formed and a number of digitally focused business units created within the organisation including Airtight, Backend and Glue. Glue went on to become one of the world's largest digital advertising agencies before being acquired by Aegis Media in 2005.

2001

In February 2001, the first major international office of Deepend was opened in Sydney by the then Head of Production, Matt Griffin. Shortly after and in the wake of the Dot.com crash, the Deepgroup LLC went into voluntary administration and the Australian, US and Europe operations were bought out their respective management teams.

2004

2001 - 2004 saw the Australian operation grow in size and capability helping businesses manage change through a new landscape brought on by the uptake of the Internet and personal technology.

2005

In 2005 Deepend Sydney Pty Limited acquired the assets of Victoria Real Pty Limited, the Australian office of global digital agency in order to expand its growing technical capabilities.

2006

In 2006, the decision was made by the board to take the business to IPO with a number of other leading digital marketing and technology businesses under the newly formed Bluefreeway Limited (BLU). Deepend named in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific

After a tumultuous 2 year period under Bluefreeway control, the business was bought back by the founders and focused toward servicing the needs of modern and highly connected digital marketer.

2008

In 2008, How To Impact Pty Limited (How To Impact) was founded by then What if? Director, Matt Whale. Winning their first innovation brief from Lion Nathan, which led to creation of 5 Seeds cider – a then ground breaking response to the shift away for the traditional beer consumption.

2009

In 2009, we opened Nomad Agency Pty Limited (Nomad) with David McGowan to service the growing needs of the mobile consumer as the uptake of internet connected devices was rapidly increasing. And saw long standing relationships formalised as Chris Crammond (Managing Director) and Anthony Brian (Finance Director) became co-owners of the business and a Group structure for the business re-formed.

2010

In 2010 Deepend took out the coveted "Australian Digital Agency of the Year" award at the B&T awards. Shortly after we opened the Melbourne office in partnership with industry expert and Victorian local, Kath Blackham.

2011

In 2011 Nomad was named Mobile Agency of the Year in 'The Mobies'.

What we believe

Our vision is to live in a world where Design is truly understood, valued and adopted as a vehicle for making positive change to peoples' lives.

We believe that through strategic, design consultancy, we can help organisations navigate complex problems by listening, designing and transforming how they do business.

We value people's ability to embrace change; their desire to create the unexpected; the strength they gather by working together; and their belief that at the centre of everything that is important in our lives are people themselves.
